ASE offers a range of internships with prestigious organizations within the city of Bath. Students spend a minimum of a day and a half a week (or equivalent) at their placement whilst ASE is in Bath, making a minimum commitment of 120 placement hours a semester. Students have a placement mentor to oversee their work experience and an ASE internship tutor with whom they meet on a weekly basis and who guides them in the preparation of an 8,000 word paper (or equivalent). This paper, which develops from, and complements, work undertaken at the placement, forms a substantial part of the student’s final assessment.

*Please note: Students accepted by ASE for an internship undergo a formal interview at the placement with the site supervisor during the first week of semester, where suitability is assessed and the work-experience for the semester discussed. Acceptance on to the Internship Programme is contingent upon a successful outcome from this interview. Normally, only one student per semester is placed in each internship. Note: Students may not combine an internship with the Tutorial Programme or the Education Programme.
