The Main Quad at UnivASE moves to the oldest of the Oxford colleges, University College, for a week long residency each semester. Classes continue in the privileged environment of this historic college, generally referred to as 'Univ'. Whilst ASE has its own seminar rooms at Univ, several classes are held in the more intimate academic atmosphere of our tutors' Oxford offices.

Punting on the 'Isis' at OxfordWhilst in Oxford, we explore the treasures of several colleges (including Christ Church, where Lewis Carroll and J.R.R.Tolkien both taught, and where scenes from Harry Potter were filmed) and visit the City's museums, galleries and botanic gardens. We make an attempt at punting on the River Cherwell, visit Blenheim Palace (where Sir Winston Churchill was born), attend a lecture by an eminent Oxford professor, challenge the British at darts and pool in Univ's cellar bar and finish with a semi-formal dinner in the Great Hall.

Gathering at Univ's Cellar Bar following the Formal DinnerHousing is in University College study bedrooms of varying sizes and shapes. Breakfast is served in the Great Hall, and at lunch in the Common Room the day's study trips and evening activities are discussed and organised. Students' meal allowances are augmented to offset the increased expense of restaurant-dining in the evenings.

Library Resources:
While in residence, ASE students have use of the 'Univ' library. For those whose work requires it, arrangements can usually be made for library privileges at the Bodleian, one of the world's finest libraries.

Throughout the Year:
Throughout the year ASE covers the cost of students' travel to Oxford for specially arranged language tutorials and for the tutorial programme.
