Introduction

ASE offers suitably experienced and/or qualified students the opportunity to pursue a tutorial in a field of their choice. Tutorial students meet weekly, for two hours – individually or in pairs – with a professor specialising in their subject (or language) of choice, following the model of Oxford University. Classes are usually held in the professor’s home or college room in Oxford, or at Nelson House in Bath.

Tutorials are available only to students with a GPA of 3.4 (3.0 for languages) or above, and are of particular relevance to those wishing to undertake senior/honours thesis work on their return home, and/or to continue their studies at graduate level. All tutorials are recommended for four credits. Credit for independent studies is recommended on a case by case basis.

There is an additional fee for all tutorials. See the fees page for current details. This fee includes any travel expenses incurred.
