Alumni Association Coordinator

Rob Jones joined ASE in January 2013, following a number of years working at the Roman Baths Museum in Bath and teaching at Cardiff University. He graduated from Cardiff University in 2006, completing a PhD in medieval military display. He regularly speaks on the subject of medieval military history, has published a number of academic papers, and three books – Bloodied Banners: Martial Display on the Medieval Battlefield, The Knight: Warrior and World of Chivalry, and A Companion to Chivalry - and is working on another at present.

As Alumni Association Coordinator Rob is at the heart of ASE's Alumni Association, but he also teaches courses on knighthood and chivalry, Roman history and the history of the British army.

Outside of work, Rob enjoys cooking, is a keen western martial artist, training with and teaching medieval longsword, and owns his own suit of armour!
