This dynamic, credit-bearing seminar offers ASE students a unique opportunity to explore jazz, commercial, and musical theatre styles, developing a versatile skill set suited to a wide range of industry contexts. Classes focus on building strong technical foundations through centre work, alignment, placement, and coordinated movement, helping dancers refine precision, control, and musicality.
An element of the course is physical conditioning, with dedicated time for strengthening, flexibility, and stretching to support safe, sustainable dance practice. Alongside technique sessions, students take part in weekly routine-based classes that extend these skills into choreography. These sessions emphasise style, performance quality, and stamina, allowing dancers to apply technical principles while learning original jazz and musical-theatre routines.
Across both technique and routine classes, the aim is to nurture confident, expressive, and technically sound performers who.
Classes take place in the early evening, and are run in partnership with the Bath Academy of Musical Theatre. You will be learning and practising alongside aspiring Bath-based dancers aged 15 to 25 years old, creating an experience ideal for students seeking to become confident, expressive, technically sound performers, and to gain real-world experience of intensive dance training within a UK professional academy setting.
